AbstractThe aim of this study was to identify which factors were the best predictors of sexist attitudes. To achieve this aim, two groups of variables were analysed. The first group consisted of variables relating to parenting styles and the division of housework. The second group consisted of personal factors related to prosocial behaviour and physical and verbal aggression. The sample was made up of 732 adolescents aged 12–14 from Valencia (Spain). <p>La violencia escolar entre iguales tiene graves consecuencias para las víctimas. La victimización puede ser directa, mediante agresiones físicas y verbales, y relacional mediante exclusión y rechazo social. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las propiedades psicométricas de la escala de Victimización Escolar entre Iguales (VE-I) que consta de 11 ítems relativos a diferentes formas de victimización. En este estudio participaron 1389 adolescentes (50.45% varones),  de entre 11 y 15 años (M = 13.37, DE = 1.23). La estructura de la escala fue analizada mediante análisis factorial exploratorio y análisis factorial confirmatorio, por lo que se utilizaron dos submuestras diferentes.…

Terms of abuse as expression and reinforcement of cultures

In this study terms of abuse are investigated in 11 different cultures, Spontaneous verbal aggression is to a certain extent reminiscent of the values of a certain culture. Almost 3000 subjects from Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Croatia, Poland, Great Britain, USA, Norway, Greece, and The Netherlands were asked to write down terms of abuse that they would use given a certain stimulus situation, and in addition, to give their rating of the offensive character of those terms. Abstract. The purpose of this study was to replicate the dimensions of the customer-related social stressors (CSS) concept across service jobs, to investigate their consequences for service providers’ well-being, and to examine emotional dissonance as mediator. Data of 20 studies comprising of different service jobs (N = 4,199) were integrated into a single data set and meta-analyzed. Confirmatory factor analyses and explorative principal component analysis confirmed four CSS scales: disproportionate expectations, verbal aggression, ambiguous expectations, disliked customers. Participaron 2189 adolescentes de 13 a 17 anos, que respondieron cuestionarios sobre estrategias para mantener la disciplina, razones para la disciplina y disciplina-indisciplina en EF. Hating Adolescents Test (HAT): a preliminary development of a measure to assess hating among adolescents

The phenomenon of haters is becoming common among adolescents. The aims of the present research were to evaluate the preliminary psychometric properties of the Hating Adolescents Test (HAT), an ad hoc questionnaire created to evaluate online and offline hate (Study 1), and possible risk factors connected with hate (Study 2).
